Abstract
Poli (etilen – tereftalat), PET polimerni je materijal širokog područja primjene. Najčešće se koristi u kućanstvu, građevinarstvu, kemijskoj industriji te kao ambalaţni materijal za izradu boca. PET je nelomljiv materijal, lagan, proziran i nepropustan za većinu plinova, ali se dugo zadržava u okolišu jer nije biorazgradiv. Prije samog postupka recikliranja potrebno je provesti postupak predobrade koji uključuje prikupljanje, usitnjavanje i pranje otpadnog PET-a. Otpadna PET ambalaža može se reciklirati mehaničkim ili kemijskim postupcima u svrhu dobivanja polazne sirovine ili novog materijala.
