Abstract

Ubrzan rast populacije i iskorištavanje neobnovljivih resursa uzrokuju promjene u
pokrovu zemljišta, smanjenju zaliha pitke vode, učestale te nagle promjene vremenskih i
klimatskih promjena te utjecaj na globalno zagrijavanje što je glavni uzrok prirodnih
katastrofa poput porasta razine mora, pojave tsunamija, otapanje ledenjaka, porast
temperature i slično. Baze prostornih podataka mijenjaju čitavi način upravljanja te
otvaraju vrata modernom i naprednom konceptu raspodjele geoinformacija. Podaci o
prostoru se dobivaju na razne načine i velik broj takvih podataka je besplatno dostupan
putem različitih Geo portala. Cilj ovog rada je izrada baze prostornih podataka koja će
uključiti značajan broj podataka o prostoru, a koji su usko vezani uz inženjerstvo okoliša.
Nakon izrade jedne takve baze, prikazati će se mogućnosti različitih upita i vizualizacija
tih podataka. Sva rješenja prikazana su u besplatno dostupnim programskim paketima,
QGIS i PostgreSQL.

Abstract (english)

Rapid population growth and exploitation of non-renewable resources cause drastic
changes in land cover, they cause the reduction of fresh water supplies, as well as frequent
and sudden changes in weather and climate change. They also have an impact on global
warming, which is the main cause of natural disasters such as sea-level rise, the
occurrence of tsunamis, the melting of glaciers, an increase in temperature and the like.
Spatial databases are changing the whole way of management and they are opening the
door to a modern and advanced concept of geoinformation distribution. Spatial data are
obtained in a variety of ways and a large amount of such data is available free of charge
through various Geo portals. The aim of this paper is to create a spatial database that will
include a significant number of spatial data, which are closely related to environmental
engineering. After creating one such database, the possibilities of different queries and
visualizations of these data will be presented. All solutions are presented in free software
packages, QGIS and PostgreSQL.
