Abstract

Naša budućnost ovisi o klimatskim promjenama. Prekomjerno korištenje fosilnih goriva i njihovo sagorijevanje uzrokuju povećanje koncentracija CO2 i metana u atmosferi. Plinovi pojačavaju efekt staklenika u kojem se sunčeva toplina zadržava na Zemlji. Uporaba neobnovljivih izvora energije ima negativan učinak i doprinosi razvoju klimatskih promjena. Praćenjem izotopa u atmosferi može se pratiti i utjecaj ljudskog djelovanja na promjenu izotopnog sastava.
Razvojem novih tehnologija omogućena su istraživanja klime, klimatskih uvjeta te njihovih modifikatora. Kromatografskom i masenom spektrometrijom određuje se omjer izotopa u uzorcima vode, tla i zraka.

Abstract (english)

Our future depends on climate change. Excessive use of fossil fuels and their combustion cause an increase in the concentration of CO2 and methane in the atmosphere. The gases amplify the greenhouse effect in which the heat from the Sun is trapped on the Earth. The use of non-renewable energy sources has a negative effect and contributes to the development of climate change. By monitoring isotopes in the atmosphere we can also monitor anthropogenic influence on the changes in their composition.
The development of new technologies has enabled research into climate, climatic conditions, and their modifiers. Chromatographic and mass spectrometry determines the ratio of isotopes in water, soil, and air samples.
