Abstract

Magnetske nanočestice imaju široko područje upotrebe, uključujući zaštitu okoliša,
industriju i medicinu. Njihova upotreba je posebno zanimljiva u procesima remedijacije
vode jer mogu na sebe adsorbirati ili specifično vezati brojna anorganska i organska
onečišćivala te se pomoću magneta zajedno s onečišćivalima mogu otkloniti iz vode i
ponovno upotrijebiti. Obično se sastoje od magnetske jezgre koja uključuje kobalt, nikal,
željezo i njihove okside, okružene zaštitnim slojem aktivnih skupina. Njihova emisija u
okoliš može imati štetne utjecaje na okoliš, živi svijet i zdravlje čovjeka. Ovaj rad opisuje
svojstva magnetskih nanočestica, načine sinteze i funkcionalizacije različitim
materijalima te njihovo korištenje u remedijaciji i analitici okoliša.

Abstract (english)

Magnetic nanoparticles have a wide range of applications, including environmental
protection, industry and medicine. Their use is particularly interesting in water
remediation processes because they can adsorb or specifically bind numerous inorganic
and organic pollutants to themselves and with the help of magnets they can be removed
from the water together with the pollutants and reused. They usually consist of a magnetic
core that includes cobalt, nickel, iron and their oxides, surrounded by a protective layer
of active groups. Their emission can have harmful effects on the environment, living
world and human health. This paper describes the properties of magnetic nanoparticles,
methods of synthesis and functionalization with different materials, and their use in
environmental remediation and analytics.
