Abstract

Završni rad pod nazivom „Recikličnost mobitela“ opisuje upravljanje otpadnim
mobitelima s ciljem implementacije strategija kružnog gospodarstva. U radu je prikazana
povijest telekomunikacija, te kako je nastao mobitel. Nadalje, opisani su osnovni sastavni
dijelovi mobitela, kao što su kućište, zaslon, baterija i tiskana pločica. Kućište je
načinjeno od plastike, te se reciklira kao svaka druga plastika odnosno mehaničkim ili
kemijskim postupkom. Zaslon se sastoji od LCD panela s tekućim kristalima. Stopa
recikliranja indija iz LCD panela manja je od 1%. Osnovna tvar baterije je vrlo lagana
kovina litij. Litijske baterije recikliraju se tako da se prvo zagriju na 600°C, zatim se
usitnjavaju te ponovno obrađuju. Tiskane su pločice dio mobitela koji imaju najveću
ekonomsku vrijednost. Sadrže vrlo vrijedne metale kao i po okoliš štetne metale i spojeve.
Tiskane se pločice recikliraju termičkim, kemijskim ili fizičkim postupkom. Recikliranje
mobitela ima svoje prednosti kao i mane, što je opisano u ovom radu.

Abstract (english)

The bachelor thesis entitled “Recyclability of Mobile Phones“ describes the management
of waste mobile phones with the aim of implementing the strategies of circular economy..
The paper shows the history of telecommunications and how mobile phones were
created. Furthermore, their basic components are described such as a housing, a screen, a
battery and a circuit board. A housing is made of plastics, and it can be recycled like any
other plastic, i.e. by mechanical and chemical processes. A screen consists of an LCD
panel with liquid crystals. The recycling rate of indium from LCD panels is less than 1%.
The basic substance of a battery is a very light metal lithium. Lithium batteries are
recycled first by heating them to 600°C, then they are crushed and processed again.
Printed circuit boards are a part of mobiles phones that have the highest economic value.
They contain very valuable metals as well as environmentally harmful metals and
compounds. Printed circuit boards are recycled by thermal, chemical or physical
processes. The recycling of mobile phone has advantages and disadvantages, which is
described in this paper.
