Abstract

Najpoznatije i najveće ponornice kako Like, tako i Hrvatske su Lika i Gacka. Karakterizira ih relativno miran i dugi tok koji dijelom ili cijelom svojom dužinom teče ispod zemlje kao krški sustav. Veliku ulogu u elektroenergetskom sustavu ima Hidroenergetski sustav Senj s pratećim objektima koji služi za iskorištavanje vodnih snaga tih rijeka. Za iskorištavanje preostalih neiskorištenih potencijala godinama se razmatra mogućnost dogradnje sustava, što je uvjetovalo za rješenje izgradnju Hidroenergetskog sustava Kosinj i rekonstrukciju postojećih objekata. Također, veliki doprinos imaju i u vodoopskrbi, pa tako svu vodu iz HE Senj koristi vodozahvat Hrmotine za potrebe vodoopskrbe od grada Senja do Karlobaga, te otoka Paga i Raba. U svrhu zaštite izvorišta koja se koriste za vodoopskrbu, utvrđene su zone sanitarne zaštite s propisanim mjerama i zabranama za upravljanje istima.

Abstract (english)

The most famous and largest subterranean rivers in both Lika and Croatia are the Lika and the Gacka. They are characterized by a relatively calm and long course that flows partly or entirely underground as a karst system. The Senj Hydropower System with accompanying facilities, which use the water power of these rivers, play a major role in an electric power system. In order to exploit the remaining untapped potentials, the possibility of upgranding the system has been considered for years which required the construction of the Kosinj Hydropower System and the reconstruction of the existing facilities. Also, they contribute significantly to a water supply, so all the the water from the HPP Senj is used by the water pumping station Hrmotina in order to provide water supply to the towns of Senj to Karlobag, and the islands of Pag and Rab. For the purpose of protection of the springs which are used for water supply, sanitary protection zones have been determined with measures and prohibitions concerning their management.
